Free domain names and hosting

Hello Folks,

Has anyone tried any of the free domain and hosting websites to get domain names and/or hosting?

Some people do not have credit cards and this would help them get started.

Usually it involves doing something to get those free domains. It is normally a better idea to work something else out and buy your own domain.

Personally I would trust namecheap over some service offering me a free domain.

I might have found one at Free Web Hosting with PHP, MySQL and cPanel

Not only do you get a free domain name, but free hosting with unlimited domains, pop3 email box, FTP, unrestricted PHP with MYSQL. They guarantee no advertising. And it includes cPanel.

Update to free host experriment.

I got a domain name from Godaddy for mutual funds niche.

I pointed this domain name to 000host.com and signed up for free hosting.

Next, I went to cpanel and set up a db, username, password and added user to db.

I am waiting for the nameservers to take effect and then I will fill out the Installer and attempt to install the blog on the free host.

If this works, then the cost of a host is reduced to zero and the only expense will be buying a domain name + sweat equity.

Working in Dashboard now.

Blog Up and Running

I put up four pages on the mutal fund blog and am now submitting a mutual fund article via Article Robot. I set it so there is a three minute pause between submissions.

So far the totally free no advertising hosting is working OK.
