Default Placement of Adsense

First of all, I have to admit I have screwed up my blog when I was trying to play with the code. Ok let me tell you all what I intended to do:
1) I would like to change the position of the adsense from the top right side to the left side to be blended in with the article.

The adsense on the homepage is still on the right side. No problem, but if you click on the title you can see the adsense on the top left, looking out of place. You may understand me better if you go to Sleeping Problems Info

2) I really need help to correct the mistake and need assistance on how to change it the way I mentioned in 1).

Please help

Thank you a bundle

Default I would put it back to the way it was

I would remove the code on the single post and put it back to the way it was. That will solve your problem that you are seeing. You are not going to get it inside the article text, at least I have not been able to, so just be happy where they are and remove the text that you did to put it in the left out of place.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for trying to help. I went to presentation-theme editor-sidebar, I tried to look for the code, but couldn't. I am very raw the html.

Please don't give up on me.

TQ

TQ,

Guesssing you want to put the adsense text box in a post?

You will need to use the following:

Paste this in the html section of a post before the first paragraph tag '<p>'

<div style="padding: 5px; display: block; float: left"> Your adsense code here </div>, this will ensure that the code will wrap around your post and display.

I've deleted the right hand-side adsense unit too as I've found it to be ineffective.

You must be aware also that you are only allowed to display 3 adsense text boxes on any one page - so if you have four the last one will show clear.

Steve,

Please see above on how to do this. If you want to place on further down the post too, then you need to change 'left' to 'right'

Nick,

Thanks alot. It could be simple for other people, but it was a hell of time for me, trying to put the html you gave me. I did try to change it in the post but failed many times, so instead I went to single post and put it there. You can see the changes I made at Sleeping Problems Info
You will only see the changes when you click the title, the homepage is still the same, I do not know how to do that. Furthermore, I am so scared of making the mistake and don't know how to rectify it. Do you think if there is anything can be done to fill up the blank space on the top right where the old ads. was?

Oh God thanks to all of you..though I spent nearly 4 hours... I am glad atleast I got it right.. I hope

cheers

Howdy all,

An extremely simple way to get adsense inside your article text is with a plugin called "adsense injection". It allows you to add multiple formats of adsense inside the text, heres a snapshot of the configuration screen;

http://www.biggnuts.com/wp-content/u...se-example.gif

Here how one of my sites looks with it;

Expert Fashion Design Reviews and Advice

Each refresh changes the format from one size to another depending on how many variations you pick in the configuration screen. This helps reduce visitors "adsense blindness" (ie - visitor purposely trying to avoid looking at any ads) and (hopefully) increases your click through rate.

Download page;
Adsense Injection

If you do use it make sure you set the configuration screen quantity of adsense ads to 1 for the block inside the article. That way the first post will have an ad. If you choose more than that your right hand sidebar 250x250 block will disappear because adsense only allows 3 blocks per page.

My site above has it set to 2 so the first and second post has it because I replaced the 250x250 adsense right sidebar block with other advertising as you can see.

Also I set the configuration to - Left handside for the position of the adsense block inside the post.

Mike

Question Nice Layout Mike

I liked you layout Mike.

I have questions:

1) How did you make first letter of introduction to look bigger, colorful and stylish?

2) How did you change the color of many tags that are displayed in right navigation?

And suggestion to you also:
If you have AdSense within post then make links within AdSense same color as your other site links.

By the way, in AdSense ad make your url look same colour as text.

Mike,

I'll take a look at the plugin, looks like it might be of interest.

Boris,

Answers to your questions;

1. Go here and follow the instructions for the dropcap;

printf hello world dot com Wordpress Plugin Drop Cap

2. I didn't change the color of the tags. Thats what they were when I set it up.

Thanks for the suggestions on the color of the adsense links and adsense text but these colors were chosen based on research.

Best regards,

Mike
