Default Directory Submissions and Adsense

Hi,

I have heard that it is not a good idea to have adsense on your pages from the start. That it is better to leave them without adsense for the first 30 days or so while you submitt your site to directories (afterall you probably will not get any real traffic during that time anyway). Since the directories use people to approve the site, they may be more likely to accept a site without lots of adsense ads.

I have two questions:

1. Is this true?
2. Is there a way to "turn-off" the adsense at the beginning without damaging the template or the looks of the site.

Thanks,

Rosa

Hi Rosa

I've asked this question a couple of times and have yet to receive an answer from Marc or Daniel but if you look at this thread

http://www.ninetydaychallenge.net/fo...topic.php?t=45

it would appear that Marc will be talking about using a plug-in which switches off adsense when he makes a new video. So, maybe, he's going to suggest leaving them off at first. That certainly seems to be the general consensus.

Default How to Remove Adsense

Ya i agree leaving the adsense off is important for getting included into directories. here is a quick way to do it, with a screenshot to help.

To remove the adsense:

1. In your Wordpress Admin Area, Click on "Options" (next to "Import")
2. Click on "AdsenseDeluxe"
3. In the area where it says "Adsense Blocks", uncheck the boxes under the ON column. There should be three to uncheck. Here's a screen shot of what it should look like:

4. Click UPdate Enable Options

If you have any questions let me know.

Cheers Rex. Haven't got that far yet but that plug-in looks really useful.

Hi. My name is Joaquin and I'm quite a new member of PLRPRO. Are you sure about what you said about turning adsense off when you want to get your site included into directories.????

Hi Rex,

Thanks for that information - I was thinking about doing that so I don't accidentally click on one the AdSense ads.

Thanks Steve. I do believe that is mis-information on whoever originally suggested to turn Adsense off before promoting to directories.
It sounded strange to me that a Goggle program would interfere with getting included in directories. That just doesn't make logical sense. Once again thanks guy.

As I have said previously. I never have an issue with it, though I do know some that have.

In general you should not see a problem.

Regards
Marc

The answer to this question really depends on the quality of your site. If your site is strictly an Adsense only site, e.g. very little content - lots of ads and overall not very high quality, then you will have a more difficult time getting excepted into some of the higher quality directories. There are some directories that also don't review their sites, at least not right away, and accept you into the directory immediately. I doubt they ever review their sites.

However, if you have a medium to high quality site with 1 or 2 ad blocks and the appearance of quality, then you are probably not going to have a problem no matter which directories you submit to.

And it is possible that you could have a spammy looking site with ads everywhere and you could get 90% (perhaps less) of your submissions approved. In which case, you could turn the ads on from the beginning and just realize that you won't be accepted into all the directories but you will be making some money the whole time.

I know that doesn't really answer the question definitively but it does give you the perspective of the site reviewers from the directories. It really is a balance of quality versus monetization and how it is perceived by a directory reviewer and whether or not YOU care.
