| Here is a nifty little tip I learned awhile ago. Do you often open the same folders in Word, Excel, and such day after day. And then you go to open that folder for the file and you have to first browse your hard drive folder tree and select the correct folder. Here is a way to pre-set which folders are showing when you click File Open in Word. First - Open Program Windows Explorer Second - Click on the folder you often use daily. Right click on that folder and click properties. There you see the folder location. Highlight and copy that folder location. Three - Open up a blank document in Microsoft Word. Four - On the Menu bar at the very top of Word click on Tools and in the drop-down list click on Options. Five - When the options window pops up, click on File Locations on the far top right of that window. Six - In that window you will see file types as a heading. Right below that you will see Documents and the Location will be C:\ and whatever. Seven - Click on the Document's file type to highlight it. Then at the bottom click on modify. Eight - The window that pops up will say Modify Location. Nine - Paste in the folder location you previously copied into the bottom of that window where it says - Folder Location. Ten - Click Okay and you are done. Any feedback on this would be appreciated. Now I got to get to writing an article for my site. Joaquin

| Joaquin, Interesting - although I just prefer placing a folder with sub-folders in for my sites. I only keep original articles, as the re-written ones are placed on the blog or article directory, with the first being backed up anyhow - think this is what you mean. And I see you're from Edmonton, went there a few years ago with the TA (part of the British Army) and loved the mountains - also like west edmonton mall (think it was called), and hopefully going back soomn :-) |

Sound like you live over the seas in England. I never have been over seas. Only in the U.S.A. and Canada. I believe my direct ancestors are from England. I do believe they came over in either the Mayflower or that other ship originally. Maybe the Queen Mary. Makes me half limey methinks. Yes Nick I live in Edmonton, Alberta. West Edmonton mall that is right. I only live about a mile from there and the mountains are really quite beautiful and big too. That would be an interesting group of people. Army lads and lasses. | Hmm, thanks for the reply. But, I don't have a clue what you are on about with that process to be honest - what benefit does it have? |

It does save you time. I use this method quite often depend on where my computer file focus is for the week. You have to try it to see how it can benefit you. I always look for the quickest way to do things. Another thing I do as far as computer work goes is mainly use shortcut keys. The less I have to place my hand on the mouse the quicker I can do PC tasks. Joaquin
