Default Adsense Ads Not Related To Site Content

Hi,
Would anyone have any idea why my adsense ads on the 3 sites which I have so far put up, are not connected to the site content. They are a mixture of ads about rss feeds and wedding invitations. A few days ago 2 of the sites had more relevant ads but that seems to have changed.

Thanks,
Tricia

Default wedding invitations

I believe the wedding invitations keyword is probably being picked up from the templates default "recommended" item (look about in the middle of the page for the graphic). Once you do the step which replaces that with one related to your site contents the adsense will probably straighten itself out. Take a close look at the text. There's probably some other place which is saying RSS which you'll be changing in a later step.

Default re Adsense Ads Not Related To Site Content

Hi,
Thanks for replying. I will take a look at replacing the recommended products in the morning when I am more awake so I don't mess it up (it's midnight now in England and I have finally got the children to bed, cleared up etc, etc)
Is it straightforward to do? Once I know what I am doing I am fine.
Thanks and best wishes,
Tricia

Hi, I remove the wedding kws and put in my own. But its still showing very unrelated advertisement. I checked my main kws density and its about 2-3%.
But it is still showing the wedding and RSS stuff.

Anyone can advise?

Hi Anthony,

I had the same problem and no matter what I did, including removing and installing the blog several times, there was no joy.

Finally I did the following to get relevant adsense ads :

1) changed the site descriptions to include more keywords (the bit above the header/logo)

2) changed the image and wordings under "Recommended" to something relevant to my site

3) add a post to the site

Hope this helps.

PamL

Hi, thanks. I did what you mentioned. The tittle and the rest are quite filled with keywords. But it still show the wedding and rss stuff. I also noticed something strange. When I clicked on the achive articles, the ads showed up correctly. But not the index home page. Strange....

thanks

Anthony,

Try doing a "refresh" on the page/pages not getting relevant ads.
Sometimes G will take a little more time , just wait for one or two more days.
All the best.

Hi, Thanks! It is ok now. After a couple of days Google seem to understand the content and is now pulling proper content. Thanks again.
