Thumbs down Blog Rejected

90 Day Challenge blogs end up looking somewhat spammy of MFA to people. Let me make my point.

I have submitted my blog to BlogCatalog.
The following picture represents the
response i have got later:

They think that my blog was submitted only for commercial
purposes only (which it is) or suspected to be spam.

I think we must all take proper measures to
represent our blogs otherwise so they look
more natural like real live blogs with things
going on.

What are the proper measures?

- Try to represent your content so
that they appear more like
conversation is going on there,
people visit and leave comments.

- Try to insert where appropriate
emoticons showing how you feel
about what you read.

Try to personalize your rewritten
articles to reader as you are talking
with friend.

Does anybody have additional thoughts?
Please post your suggestions below.

Hi Boris,

As you say yourself the reason given by the catalog not to include your blog is correct, our sites are definitely made for commercial purposes.

And why not? If you want to conform to their standards you would probably have to bring the adsense back to a link unit under a post and take all the recommended posts with affiliate links off, they would have to go as well.

I'm not so concerned that I need to be posted on their site.

You could try it another way, make a few blogs without any commercial outings on it. Do it the same way you do for the 90 DC but only for the purpose of submitting to the blog catalog. Keep working them after the 90 DC and use them for link love to your commercial blogs. A lot of work and you could create your own quick link farm.

We will just be happy not being in the blog catalog. Our first 4 blogs in the challenge just got a little ranking love from google. The lowest one being PR2, two blogs with PR3 and another with PR4. That's the love we are looking for. PR is overrated for some, but we think of it in a way that we must be doing something good, correction, the 90 DC must be doing something good. First time a site that has been in the air for only (not even) 90 days to get a PR 4. It's a first for us.

SeeYa,
Michel

Question

Michel,

Do you submit unique (spinned) articles to directories or same articles?

What did you do to rank so fast in Google?

When the schedule asks for it we create a (about) 100% articles from one of the plrpro articles and that one article we submit. So one 100% rewritten article to all dirs per submission, we are not spinning the article again and again for every dir. Maybe that is better but it is a lot of work and we do not buy any thing to automate it before the 90 DC is over.

Nothing more than what the 90 DC schedule tells us to do, so everyone here can achieve this. We are as pleasantly surprised as the next guy about this result.

SeeYa,
Michel

Boris,

Some sites will reject you for the simply reason they can. Don't worry about it, just move on and try another site. The important thing is not to lose sight of the 90DC plan.

Like Michel, I got some PR love as well. I have 3 sites although I have only been actively promoting one site. One got a PR3 the other 2 are PR1's.

PR can be confusing and what most people see is the Google's toolbar PR. Now G's toolbar PR is a snapshot. One week later it could be out of date. I like to think of it as a past history view. It is a value that G has given your site.

PR in the SERP's is what I consider to be more important. As we all know our rankings can flucuate(sp) quiet a bit at times.

The toolbar PR shoudn't be discounted. Having a toolbar PR value will help secure link exchanges.

As Michel has said, I'm pleasantly surprised myself with the results I have achieved by following the 90DC plan. Yesterday was my first $5+ day.

The only thing that I did differently from Michel and was a mistake on my behalf. At first I had let UAW do all the submitting. But now I submit to the top 15 article directories myself and let UAW submit to the others.

Post Page Rank Is Not Everything

I understand that there is a difference between Page Rank and your website Position on SERPs for specific keyword.

Your website may have good Page Rank but not rank in Google SERPs for keywords.

What is Page Rank?
Is it just indicator of your website's authority and trust before Google?

What good is your website if it has good Page Rank, but doesn't rank for keywords?

How can you check if your website ranks for keywords people use to find information?

I use Shoemoney's SERP script to check if my website has position for specific keywords.

I have found that my website which has PR0 appears on Google SERPs for many of my website's topic keywords and phrases, while another website which i checked has PR4 and doesn't rank at all for keywords and phrases.

Pretty interesting huh?

Post MFA - Make Your Blog Look Like Legit

I have found a post with video, where blogger (Vic) explains the importance of making your blogs look less like MFA and more like legit.

Making Your MFA Look Legit | Blogger Unleashed

He says if it takes 30 minutes more to make blog look more like legit blog, then it will be worth in the long run.

I agree with him.
