Default Firefox login problems

Hi All,
Does anyone else have this problem?
I can't login via Firefox, my usual browser. Keep getting a message saying "You're not authorised", etc.
Get in OK using IE - a browser I normally avoid.
Is it a coding problem, or something in my browser (does not help to switch off Adblock)?
Thanks

I've also passed this onto Sean our Joomla designer, to see if he can figure it out and fix it again (we've been fixing the little bugs as they come along)

Hey Dazed -

What exactly is there error your receiving? I'm inclined to think that it is your FireFox browser settings, however you mentioned never having problems before so this is a somewhat of a perplexing situation :?

Let's do some testing...
  1. First, post the error your getting and how it is displayed (i.e. popup window or right on an HTML page)
  2. Next, head over to www.rumorist.com and sign up (if you haven't already) using FireFox.
  3. Now, login and out of rumorist and report your success or errors here.
We'll get to the bottom of this!

Sean

Default OK at Rumorist

Hi,

Did as you said. The ninetydaychallenge site message displays on the html page after I enter username/password: "You are not authorised to view this resource. You need to login". Immediately afterwards opened IE, and logged in with no trouble, using the same passwords.

Went to rumorist.com, registered and logged in using Firefox with no trouble, so don't think it is the brower setting. Is rumorist also a Joomla site?

Have a screen shot of the message I receive in Firefox, but can't figure out how to attach it to this post. Shall I email to you? Address?

Isn't it nice I've found something to help fill the empty hours in your day?

Cheers

Darrell

Hey Darrell -

I've sent you a PM with my information... Please go ahead and send me the screen shot if you could.

This is a strange bug, but we'll squash it. Thanks for your time posting the problem.

Sean

p.s. Yes, Rumorist is a Joomla Site!

Hey everyone -

I've done some testing and believe it to be a problem with session paths. For some reason (not sure why yet), FireFox isn't able to write to the session folder (a file is written here that keeps you logged in). I'm talking with Dan and Marc to get it looked into!

Sorry for the inconvenience, but for now IE is the best alternative

Sean

Also, what version of FireFox is everyone that is having problems using?

I've tested versions 2.0.0.1 and 1.5.0.7 without any problem.
