Default First Post To First Blog

Hi Guys

Advice required:

Just posted to my first blog and the ads that come up remain as wedding invitations!!! Site nothing to do with this. Is it just a case of waiting couple of days for them to turn to relevant ads?

Just been into my first post page and the ads show up as relevant but the first page i.e. the www.--------.com page. still shows wedding ads for some reason. What can I do to get rid of these. Do I need to post to the domain name page and if so how do you do it. Do I just post without setting a category?

Do I need to change anything here?

Appreciate your advices please

Mark.

Hi Mark,

Be in Dashboard. Click Presentation, then Theme Editor>Sidebar.php

Scroll down ubtil you get to the headline "Recommended" and remove the code from the <div> to </div>. icluding the divs.

Before you do that, however, you may want to save the div code for future reference.

After you remove the divs, only "Recommended" should show on the blog.

Default First Blog Post

Thanks Walt

I have already done that but oops forgot to save code, I will get it off another of my blogs.

What I am trying to say is should I be doing a post to the home page and will that change the ads?

Thanks for your help

Default patience, friend...

Just give it time. It sometimes takes Google 2-3 days to recognize that there's new content on your blog before serving up new ads. Just keep posting content relevant to your blog theme with lots of good keywords in your posts and tags and eventually you'll get good ads on the first page.

You may want to check older posts like Adsense Ads Not Related To Site Content for other ideas.
