ftp/Installer question....help!

Hello All~

I'm currently trying to install WP and this is the msg that pops up:

Error: Authentication to FTP server failed.

Anyone know what this could mean? This is only the first box when I put in the information to connect to the directories.

I have ftp software with cuteftp and I have filezilla. I don't know why this could be showing. do i need to dbl check something? my db was set up successfully so I don't know what the problem could be???

The server may have been be down.

I just connected via the Installer.

Hi,

When you put up your second site, did you add an ftp? if this sounds confusing don't worry about answering it. I have a site up already and I was told that I need to add an ftp when I do my addon domain. Did you do that? what ftp software do you have?

Hi.
I'm not sure what you mean.

The Installer should put up the add-on site, assuming its working.

I use Smart FTP mostly to upload images into the image dir only because DandM recommended it.

I have it up, half way, thanks! Now I'm having problems with my database. I'm chatting with Hostgator now to see what I could've done wrong. The installer is uploaded successfully though...frustration!
