Getting confused

Hi
Im getting confused.
I think I should stop reading soon.

I initally was going to set up my blog through PRLPro free hosting but have decided to go with hostgator instead.


I have very little knowledge of websites and bandwith ect....other than doing alot of web surfing

Here is where I get confused.
1. Do I get the Linux Web hosting or the Reseller hosting? Other than being able to sell hosting what are the benefits of the Reseller account. Looking at bandwith for the $24.95 per month it would be less than what Im getting for the $12.95 per month on straight hosting.

2. Do I still use wordpress or use their templates or do I have to use a program such as frontpage and create my own. (mind you I have no experience at frontpage or any other website software package).

I know these are basic question but as I said I have very little knowledge in this area. I would also like to try and set my sites up right the first time round so I dont have to spend time fixing them up later.
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated
