keywords

Help.... i am still on day one....i must be sooooo thick!
When we write posts on wordpress do we need to add different keywords for each different article that is posted?
As i am not sure, what i have been doing is just using the highlighted keywords in each article....is this correct?
please can someone reply quickly as i feel i am getting left way behind!
