Question What Do You Think?

Hi guys,

Congratulations to those who implemented Amazon.com Store at their sites. I thought of this too, however i came with slightly different method of showing Amazon.com Store.

So i created completely separate common .html page plus added header from my blog. All seems not bad, but when you try to resize browser window then header and Amazon.com Store elements do not align equally.

Try to see it on my site here and resize your browser window and tell me if you experience same thing.

What do you think of this method and what would you change?

Thanks.

Hi Boris,
It looks great, I don't have to resize anything at all. How do you do that? I might want to do that after I fix all my screwed up sites.
Good luck with the sale.
Cheers

I had no problem with resizing on safari.

Good job. Looks great.

Boris,

When you replaced the default header from the blog template, did you ensure that your new header was the same pixel size as the default header size?

In other words, if the default header image was 750x200, you have to ensure that your custom header image is the same.

If not, than you have to adjust the css file to take in the new parameters of the header.

I see what you are talking about, header and body do not align.

Boris, not sure if this is the problem but it appears you have a table tag that is not closed. ie: </table>

Post Forget The Old Version

Thanks for feedback people.

- bjsmooths

I used same header as in my home page - 850x150.
PLRpro packs come with 750x150 size headers which get resized later on automatically on your blog to 850x150 when you visit.

I don't like this because:
  1. Resize makes the image look clumsy.
  2. Original image which comes in PLRpro pack has big file size which is around 90k and loads slowly.

This is why i take original PLRpro image, resize it to 850x150, optimize it in Photoshop for half file size, so it won't have to be resized by browser, will look better and load faster.

Final benefits:
  • It will eat less hosting's bandwidth.
  • It will loolk better.
  • It will load faster so visitors won't have to wait.

Finally i have changed my store.
Compare both and see which one is better:

1. My first store
2. My current store

To make it easier to understand, view the page's source code in your browser to see the actual coding.

I also suggest to install FireFox addon - "FireBug" which will allow you to see coding of each page's element. In my opinion this will shorten your html/css learning curve.

Looking good, my only comment is to not use the Term 'back to home page" You should use something with a key word in it...like "back to Camera Blog" or something like that. Don't waste that anchor tag on a meaningless word.

Thanks for suggestion, but that backlink within aStore doesn't pass link value, so there is no point of optimizing anchor text.
