| Hey everyone, I'm ready for the 90 day challenge, full speed ahead! I actually started yesterday. I got up at 4am and read through a lot of info and got some small tasks out of the way and tried to get a site installed before I had to head off to work at 12pm. I failed miserably even after following the installation video, and I had to go to work so I was unable to try again. However, I just focused on everything that I did get accomplished like the keyword research, downloading a niche, and buying a domain name. Today I tried again, watched the install video 3 times and read some forum posts and I figured it out. I had a small celebration of running up and down the stairs telling everyone in the house after seeing the site live on my domain name. I now have my first niche site up and ready for content to be added. I am a bit behind my schedule, but I will catch up! Good Luck To Everyone! You Can Do It! | Hello Anthony, Congrats on getting the site up. Can you tell me and other (I am sure they would like to know) what you found to be the problem with your first install attempt and the one that worked???? It would be nice to know that way we all can learn from the mistakes we all make at times. Thanks and look forward to seeing your site on page one of google and your answer to the question. Steve |

| I already had a hosting account from a website that was put up for me a while ago. I don't know much about hosting and such. When I was watching the video it didn't really explain very well what the root domain install is vs. an add-on domain. To be honest I'm still not sure. This all seems so simple now but at the time it caused me some grief not knowing how to do an add-on domain. I got it now but it just took a little bit of messing around and looking for answers in the forum. It's really simple but sometimes the small things are what hold you back. |

| Hi Anthony, The first time I tried an add-on, I screwed up my main website becuase I didn't know wha I was doing so I spent a few hours on the Internet finding out how to do it.

Hello from Joaquin. Hey Steve and everyone. Steve you are that winner guy for the 90 DC challenge right. Awesome. I just saw this post and decided to respond to it. I'm quite new and just got my first site up including the header. I used the Word Press installer. Next I have to post articles, etc. Very exciting for me now as I had headaches with the Word Press installer. I had a really tough time with the Word Press Installer over a period of weeks and got help from Robert at PLRPro. Here is what I did. When installing Word Press using installer you may get an error saying, "It doesn't look like you installed Word Press yet." The following shows what you may see. Connecting to server via FTP Uploading the directory to the server ftp.heartdiseaseawareness.com: Upload Complete!! Configuration File modified. SQL File modified. Databse Installation Details: In case any error is shown up here, Please contact the administrator at [email] Blog installation complete ================================================== = I got the message saying It Doesn't Look Like You Installed Word Press yet. It may say, "Click here to install Word Press." When I got this message I immediately went to my ftp program and saw Word Press was installed. I then followed the first and second step to install it from the bottom of the Word Press Blog installer page and it worked fine. It said at the bottom of the Word Press Installer Page - "Click here to install Word Press." So I clicked there to install Word Press. The following is what I then saw and did. First Step Before we begin we need a little bit of information. Don't worry, you can always change these later. Weblog title: Your e-mail: Double-check that email address before continuing. WordPress, personal publishing platform. Second Step Now we’re going to create the database tables and fill them with some default data. Finished! Now you can log in with the username "admin" and password "". Note that password carefully! It is a random password that was generated just for you. If you lose it, you will have to delete the tables from the database yourself, and re-install WordPress. So to review: Username admin Password Login address Were you expecting more steps? Sorry to disappoint. All done! ![]() WordPress, personal publishing platform. ================================================== ===== This guy had the final answer Internet Marketing Forums slowcoach slowcoach is offline Junior Member I get the "it does not look as if you have installed WordPress" message. That's easily dealt with. Click where it tells you, enter the first bit of info it asks for, click again, and somehow magically it is all done. All of this theme’s files are located in wp-content/themes/dewald-spec. Activate the theme by clicking on it in Word Press Admin Site - Presentation toolbar. Location Of Header Image In Smart FTP - /public_html/images. Go to your FTP program, Delete the header in the above location and replace it by uploading with FTP your chosen header which must be named header.jpg. To find folder location of header image in Smart FTP click on header.jpg image then in the standard menu bar go to Commands and in the drop down list click on Properties. Then you can see exactly where to delete the install header and upload your chosen header. Hope this helps someone. Joaquin Last edited by joaquin : 02-15-2008 at 03:37 AM. Reason: Changing URL |
