Unhappy can't set up new blog using installer

Hello:
I have tried for 2 days now trying to set a new blog using the installer. I tried the old installer, and the new updated one also.
In the first steps, when I try to connect with the server, in order to set my directory. I receive the error cannot connect with the server.
Does anyone here by chance have an idea of what is going on?

Thank you,
Tony

What server?

ftp.main domain name.com (addons won't work)

In most cases, the server is either down or you have bad input.

Smile Figured out the problem

Thanks, for your response, but all of my addon domains are working.

The solution is that when I pointed the domain from the registar, it did not take, so I had to go in and repoint the domain again, so in 24-48 hours I will be able to try to set the blog up again.

I have tried for 2 days now trying to set a new blog using the installer...this is the error I get

It appears that you have entered an incorrect URL or incorrect directory as the two do not match up, please double check both

so I started over now i get this

It appears as though you already have something installed in your directory, please ensure that all files are deleted before attempting to create an install

Im still trying...

any help out there?

James

Default this is the best way to do it

Hello,
this is how I do the installer
I open the installer video in one window
then
I open the installer in another window, so now I have two
then one step at a time throught the video and pause
then
do that step in the installer
then watch the next step in the video and pause
do that one and on and on
this has never failed for me and I have never had the installer fail doing it this way. I am sure that I am doiing each step right and without any questions or guesses.
Hope that helps,
Steve
