| Hi! Guys, this may sound crazy for me but I am not sure for others. You see, I just set up my first ever site about 2 weeks ago, 13 days to be precise and using the materials and wordpress installer provided in the 90 days challenge by Marc & Daniel. I really got a shocked when I accidently make a search and saw my site indexed. What baffled me is that my site is on the second page of google and ranked no. 17 under “allergies and common symptoms” out of a total of 1,980,000 !!! and ironically I did NOTHING much on my site except changing a bit of the background colour and rewriting the articles. I am not sure whether this ranking is good or not or just a norm. I am sure some of you may have much higher ranking using the same process. If so, please leave some comments and let me know how I can improve further to rank in the first page. That is the Ultimate Challenge !!! Last edited by TopGrade : 11-13-2007 at 07:00 AM. | Hello, I think that is great out of 2 million search pages, wow great job. Want to move to the first page, get some links with that search phrase in the anchor text and link to that page. You will move right up the engine. That is a good phrases, so just link a bit. Do some linking and wait a couple of week, check it and if it is not where you want it, link some more , rinse and repeat. Secret for you... Steve |

Thanks Steve for your feedback and "little" secret. .I was wondering how you do those internal linking, Steve. Maybe if you can shed some light on how to do it, would appreciate very much. Do we go to he "links" section and from there how ? ![]()

Hello, Linking is one of the keys to success. If you are working a hard keyword with much competition, you need to link. You can do this with articles to the article directories and have other webmaster pick up your article and post it on their sites and you have links in the resource box with the anchor text (keyword phrase) you want to rank for. You can use the directory submitter and submit to directories using the anchor text. You can email other webmasters in your niche and ask for a reciprocal link where you put there link on your page and they do the same using that anchor text (keyword phrase) that you want to rank for. So there are a few ideas. Steve

Hello, Just add a text link in each article to link back to the home page, if that is what you want to do. I am talking about linking each page with each page to help ranking. As you right a new articles, just add a text link to one of your existing pages. Most articles you are able to link to another article that you have already done. Just add a text link. Steve

Hello, Ok, here is how you can do it. Say you have a term "link to my home page". This is how you do it. You highlight the term "link to my home page" then go to the top of your page and right under the title bar you will see a picture that looks like a link of a chain that is horizontal. Click that picture. Then it will as you for the url, enter your home page url : http://www.yourhomepage.com then on the second line it say to open in same window or new window, since it is still on your site open in the same window. Next it ask for the title, enter your keyword phrase "link to my home page" and click insert or ok. That is all you need to do. You can link to any page, any site using this method. Hope that helps, Steve
