Hey all, I've been wondering over the past few days why the UTW plugin isn't putting any tags on the 'related tags' section at the bottom of the posts. I've checked out other similar 90day sites and they're the same - does this matter? and if not how do I remove it? Also, looking at a lot of other blogs they've got like over 50 different tags for around 10 posts - isn't this a bit over excessive and pointless? I've taken the technorati tags (at technorati) that are brought up when searching for the site's niche term, plus I've added a couple that came up when I did some more keyword research. Just a bit confused, surely less is more here?

Hello, Yes 50 tags on 5 blog post is over doing it a bit. All you need is your main keyword, and a couple secondary ones. Here is the key, if you have not mentioned the keyword in your article, don't put it in the tags. It is a worthless affair. Only the keywords that are used in the articles should go in the tag line. If you are thinking I will just load up on a bunch of keywords here in the tag line, you are just kidding yourself and wasting your time, I am sorry to say. I did this in the beginning, for a few blogs, but now I know better. Steve

Steve, Thanks for the clarification, just wanted to make sure that a niche blog needed to target short and long tail (relevant ;-)) keyword terms, and that some one else was doing what I thought we should be doing including relevant tags to the post and technorati. Cheers Nick
