Default Download link for the cusotmer

Hi, need some advise....

I have setup the site and integrated with Paypal. Am wondering how to 'setup' the link for the customer to download after a successful Paypal payment? I could not find anywhere that I could put the download link info.....

Btw - my site does not have any autoresponder setup. That will be my next one...

thanks
anthony

In Pay Pal go to Merchant Tools, go down to Website Payments – Customers shop on your website and pay on Pay Pal – Click on ‘Learn More”

Here you can watch a demo or go straight to ‘Next Step’ Learn how to integrate website payments standard.

Go through and select what you want: In this case I have selected the following:-

Scenario 3: I want to sell one item at a time

Click on ‘Integrate Now’

Here you have likely done the first step creating your button as was demonstrated in the training video, so go to Step 2.

Choose your preference.

You might want to set up ‘Auto Return’
Setting Up Auto Return
To set up Auto Return:
1. Log in and click the Profile subtab under My Account.
2. Click the Website Payment Preferences link under Selling Preferences.
3. Click the On to enable Auto Return.
4. Enter the Return URL. Note: You must meet the Return URL Requirements: in order to set up Auto Return. Learn more about Return URL.

http://www.yourdomain.com/thankyou.html or whatever you want to redirect them too

Check out the next options, if you have chosen not to encrypt your button as was suggested in the training video then you will want to uncheck this option, set it to off.

Otherwise the default options should be fine.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Lynne

Thanks alot Lynne,

That was really very helpful.

I got a couple more questions....

1. I have setup the URL to my 'thankyou" page. It seem that the destination URL is for all my Sales. How do I setup different URL for different product Sales?

2. Is there a way within Paypal that I can test the end to end payment transaction?

thanks a million...
anthony

Default pay pal button

After you create a paypal button is it possible to save it at paypal? I don't see anything there and ended up saving the button html as a txt file.

Talking Good Questions!!

Hey Guys,

Both good questions and I want to know the answers there as well...

It seems that when you set up that return to merchant url, that you only get the one option, so I was wondering what the go was there too.

Does that mean we have to set up new accounts for each product? Surely not, but who knows. I find Pay Pal confusing, and I have seen no indication that you can save a button (or the return URL).

Saving the button code is no problem really, I just save it in a word doc, but I would really like to know the answer re setting up multiple products.

Actually, the thought has just come to me, with the example I have given you that was choosing to sell a single product, so maybe in the beginning there is a better option if you are looking to sell multiple products, so perhaps that is where we need to investigate.

If that is the case then likely you would need to ignore my earlier suggestions and go through a different scenario from the beginning to set up multiple products.

Got to get to bed now!! Darn it, have to be up early to get to the old JOB!!

So if anyone can enlighten us, in the mean time, please do.

Cheers,

Lynne

Default not sure about saving

Hello,
I am trying to use paypal also. Here is what i did. I added a new email name to my account. Then when i want to create a button, I go through the motions but at the end when you add more options, you want to include that new email in there where it ask you for the email address. It is all the way at the bottom of the page. I am hoping that as I create new buttons for each account and using the new email, that this is going to solve the problem.
Hope that help,
Steve
If I learn more I will let you know,
Steve

Smile Automating Ebook Download when setting up your paypal button

What you'll need to do (this is the easiest way to do it).

Set up your html thankyou page with your thankyou text on it and then put yourdownload link on that page as well. I'd recommend naming this page something cryptic (a combination of letters and numbers) so that people can't guess it.

Once that's done upload it to your server, then go and login to your paypal account.

Follow the steps in the video to make the button but at the bottom of the page click on "Add more Options" instead of "create button now"

On this page you will see "Customise your donor's experience" and then under this you'll see the "successful payment URL:" change this option to the new thankyou page URL that you just created and then click on the "create button" link at the bottom.

Now that this is set once people have paid for the ebook they will be automatically transfered to your thankyou/download page.

If you have any other problems with it please let me know.

Cheers, ToNy!
