Default Footprint Issue With Templates

Will a footprint be created if a lot of people use the PLRPro template?

I notice that at the bottom of every template there are the same three links, and more importantly the templates have identical css files.

I'm wondering if just changing the css file and or removing the links would help. Then again, so many people download the same wordpress templates and they arent seo experts, have no idea of footprints just people blogging, getting their word out, and Google shouldn't penalize them.

On the same note, I wonder if some directories will decline some of our sites if they all look similar.

Rex,
You could delete those links if you want to , just go to theme editor in your admin options/presentation and edit footer to remove the links.

Um, I don't think you are allowed to delete the middle and right hand link. I am pretty sure they are the template developers' links and they will specify that if you use their template, you have to include links to their sites.

What you can do is remove those links from the footer and include it under favorite links.

Definitely change the CSS file a bit to customise your sites. I have a different color scheme, etc for each of my sites.

hhayman,

Can you possibly specify which of the specific css elements you change? I'm a lazy guy when it comes to looking through a css file and deciding what i should touch and what I should leave alone.

Thanks!

Default I'd like to know how to change the css, too

I second habelow's question...I'm a bit more brave in mucking around the CSS, but I'm sure I waste a lot of time in my ignorance ops: . Perhaps Marc/Dan might consider adding instructions to the 90DC manual on how to individualize the template's colors, fonts - or point us to a good resource that might enlighten.

I was able to change this site some, www.yourautoguide.net, but am having some problems figuring out how to change the post headers rectangles from blue to black.

I knew there would be a need for this information!

That's why RNW is so popular. The rapid formatter tool allows you to systematically hit the precise CSS elements you want to change in a very easy and organized fashion and you can see the results before you upload them.

It would be great to eventually have something like that but in the meantime - a little pdf or video would be awesome!

I have seen some sites that integrate a css changer within the template.

I will see how they do it and if I have the skills to do so will integrate it so members can change their template without css coding.

As for footprint.

Baaaahhhuuuuummmbbbbuuuuggggg.

As long as you are posting quality content that is unique relevant and following the guidelines we have set you should never ever have a problem with footprinting.

I guarantee that I could pick up a template that has been mass used in google and banned, and still make it work fine with.

Its all in the content people.

Thanks
Marc
