What you're experiencing is the difference between a highly seeded site and not. Sites become highly seeded by having many posts in blogging software i the course of a month, so they all end up on a monthly archive long page. This allows random combining of words from throughout disparate posts. Highly targeted sites have much less of this longtail keyword activity. Any site can be "spiked" with content to kick off the HitTail experience.

I realize there's another question posted here that I overlooked the first time. Signing up for multiple accounts is now dirt-simple. Explicit instructions no longer required. Just sign up for a free HitTail account, and that free account can support up to 4 more, for a total of 5. To go over that, upgrade to Plus.

Go to Presentation, click on Theme editor, to the right click Footer and insert the Hittail code like this:

(insert complete Hittail code here)

</body>

And then click Update File at the bottom right. That's it. Hope that helps.

Hey Manuel,

I tried to follow your instructions about pasting the code into the blog. However, at the very end where you say, "click update file at the bottom right", I can't seem to find that button. Am I missing something here??

Default talking about

Hey tennisbum,
He is talking about once you put the hittail code in the footer page under presentation, you just update that page, since you change the code. That's all. I know the button is on the bottom right, not exactly sure what it says, but you are just updating the footer page that you just change. Just like if you changed any other code on anyone of the pages, you have to basically save the changes.
Hope that helps,
Steve

Hey Steve,

I am looking for that "button on the bottom right" but I can't see it. Hmmmmm I am using Firefox on a Mac. But I don't think that should be a problem.... maybe I'll try it on a PC browser.

Nope. Still can't find that "save button" on the bottom right! UGH!!

here's what my code looks like:

</div><!-- #shadow -->
<div id="shadow_bottom"></div>
</div><!-- #ext_wrapper -->
<?php
do_action('display_canvas_spacer');
do_action('after_the_wrapper');
do_action('wp_footer');
?>
<!--HitTail Code-->
<script src="http://29191.hittail.com/mlt.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
<!--End HitTail Code-->
</body>
</html>

I assume it looks ok. Now if I can just save it somehow!! Believe me, I looked all over that page for the SAVE button and is no where to be found.
