Deleted MySQL Database

I just deleted one of my sites MySQL database my mistake
I have created a new one again with the same name but now the site isn't working- it says "It doesn't look like you've installed WP yet. Try running install.php."

Anyone know what I can do? Is my site gone for good or is there a way I can get it back?

The database you deleted had all your content and WP settings. Making a new one with the same name will not help as it will just be empty.

The only thing you can do is ask you hosting company if they can restore a backup. If you are with plrpro hosting, we do daily, weekly and monthly backups.

I'll check with Hostgator if they have a backup. If not I'll just have to start again
I can't believe I did that, it was my first site I set up months ago...what a waste!
Ok I've learnt my lesson, I'll be learning how to backup my sites tomorrow!

When installing Word Press using installer you may get an error saying, "It doesn't look like you installed Word Press yet. The following shows what you may see.

I got the message saying It Doesn't Look Like You Installed Word Press yet.
When I got this message I immediately went to my ftp program and saw Word Press was installed.
I then followed the first and second step to install it from the Word Press Blog installer and it worked fine. It may say, "Click here to install Word Press." That is what I did and clicked there to install Word Press. The following is what I then saw and did.
First Step
Before we begin we need a little bit of information. Don't worry, you can always change these later.
Weblog title:
Your e-mail:

Double-check that email address before continuing.
WordPress, personal publishing platform.
Second Step
Now we’re going to create the database tables and fill them with some default data.
Finished!
Now you can log in with the username "admin" and password "123456".
Note that password carefully! It is a random password that was generated just for you. If you lose it, you will have to delete the tables from the database yourself, and re-install WordPress. So to review:
Username
admin
Password
123456
Login address
wp-login.php

I get the "it does not look as if you have installed WordPress" message. That's easily dealt with. Click where it tells you, enter the first bit of info it asks for, click again, and somehow magically it is all done.

Location Of Header Image In Smart FTP - /public_html/images.
Go to your FTP program, Delete the header in the above location and replace it by uploading with FTP your chosen header.
To find location in Smart FTP click on header.jpg image then in the standard menu bar go to
Commands and in the drop down list click on Properties.
