Problem deleting WordPress

Hi everyone,

I finally managed to install a blog on its own domain, as opposed to adding to an existing domain, but I ran into trouble within a week.

When attempting to login, WordPress would not recognise my Username, even though I have been using it and have all details recorded so as to avoid mistakes. I made many attempts to login.

I have now deleted the Mysql database (at Hostgator) and my Cpanel shows that Wordpress is not installed, but whenever I type my domain's URL to my browser I get a Wordpress page headed "Can't select database".

As I've deleted the database and don't have Wordpress installed on this domain, how come I get this page from WordPress and what can I do to delete it please. I m going to transfer the site to XsitePro and want to avoid technical complications later.

Anyone's help will be appreciated.

I have the matter sorted now. The WordPress files which did not show as being in the public_html file after I deleted the Mysql database, reappeared later and I manually deleted them.
