Default SH-Autolink

You moved a bit fast for me in the video for SH-Autolinks. I've used this plugin before, so I understand how it works. What I don't understand is how you are advising us to use it. I want to learn from your experience.

You talk about pointing some keywords to locations inside our blog itself and other keywords to external affiliate programs from the affiliates excel spread sheet provided in each product pack.

Can you talk a bit about how you choose which keywords to use for which purpose and whether you use keyword phrases from the regular excel keyword list or make up special ones for this purpose.

Also, for the keywords, for this purpose are we looking for ones with low competition or ones with highest demant?

How have you approached the problem of having this plugin put links in your headlines and other places where you may not want them?

Hi Eddy,

In one of the videos Marc talks about updateing the permalink structure - Have you done this?

just go to "options" then "permalinks", scroll down the page and click on "update permalink structure"

That should do the trick - unless you've already done this. If that's the case I'm not sure what the problem might be.

Good Luck

Mark

G'day ,

I am in the same position as wildmind with regard to the video on SH-Autolinks -- you were just a little too quick for me to fully comprehend what we should be driving for as a end result. Could you give some detail with regard to what the protocol would be for a internal link and what it would be for a external link .

If you have received any further information wildmind I would be most appreciative if you would share that with me.

Cheers ,

Norman H

I did try using the SH-Autolinks plug in another of my WP blogs a little while back but it seemed to take over, not just the keyword or phrase in a post but if the keyword was in a link as well,so the original link became the one for the autolink keyword, if that makes sense.

The other thing was once I had added a keyword or phrase it wouldn't delete it so I finished up de-activating the plug-in. That was the only way to get things back to normal.

I would like to hear if someone else has used it successfully and how to do it in case I missed something, which is quite possible :-D
