Default Are there any crucial elements missing if the PRL installer is NOT used?

Hello everyone,
Could someone please give a numptie some advice?

I’ve only recently joined the program and have tried searching the archives on this one so if I’ve missed my question there please be forgiving.

Q: I’ve been looking at stage 1, manually installing WordPress onto my server.

However, my server provider offers Fantastico and WordPress as a standard auto install operation. If I follow this route and therefore don’t use the pre-designed PLR form; will I be unable to load any additional ‘plugins’ that Daniel & Marc may have designed into the template? Are there any crucial elements that I would miss installing WordPress in this way?

The text and graphic adjustments that they make to the template are (I think ????) standard manipulation, and could be carried out via any template. I’m I correct in thinking this?

yeah in my opinion there are going to be things
missing, for instance I have 3 sites on yahoo and
the rest on wild west domains and 1 on godady,
and all of these companys have an available
instant install of wordpress available but they don't have the theme that is available on plrpro
uploader. On my yahoo site I tried to just put
the plugins by themselves into a theme on yahoo blog and it didn't work. Also yahoo doesn't have very good info on databases either and how to setup databases that's important I found out.anyway I think that the theme is seo'd along with the plugins with a perfect match. The theme that plrpro has installed with the uploader is a perfect match
with the plugins and unless you can get someone to edit your theme for the plugin's to
fit! This is just what I've encountered, someone else might have more info for you ,sorry!

You will be missing alot

The purpose of the installer is not to install wordpress. It is to give you what we think is the best seo'ed wordpress install we can make.

If you just do a normal install you will be missing all the plugins and settings that go along with them.

What settings we will be missing if we manually install WordPress?

There are way to many to list.

If you want all the settings it is by far easier to just use the installer.

I see no reason why people wouldn't?

I did an istall with the installer, but it did not complete correctly, for whatever reason. I edited the wp-config so the site works, but the theme is not correct.

Should I just delete everything and re-install or is there a work around this?

Did you try switching to another theme?

Sometimes simply switching to another theme and then back again will get one working properly.

Regarding the plugins; I found a list of the ones used in the 90DC theme when I find it I'll post it.

Best,
Heidi

edit:
This is where you'll find the location of the list of plugins used...
Challenge Material>Wordpress Setup Material>Wordpress Plugin List

the Amazon plugin has an update located at:
Challenge Material>Wordpress Plugin Upgrades
