Default Wedding adsense

Hi all,

my sites are all still showing adsense ads for wedding invitations. I thought I removed all references to Weddings and I have two posts in each website about the new topic.
I let it sit during the weekend, thinking that it had to do with something Googely, but today the wrong ads are still there. Obviously I missed something but when I look at the source code and do a text search ( Find)for the terms "wedding" or "wedding invitation" nothings comes up in the code?
Where does Google get the idea my sites are about weddings?

Thanks for any help,
Eddy

Hi Eddy,

With the first site I couldn't get rid of the wedding ads so I did a new install. Within 24 hours of the new install the adsense was on topic.

With that site I had the same problem as you,but only on the home page, when you went to the review page or clicked on the individual pages from the menu there was no wedding adsense.

I have 4 sites up, 3 now are fine with the adsense but the last one is still showing the wedding adsense on the home page.

My first 3 all have only one post per page and I've only just changed the 4th one to that. I think the default is 6.

If it doesn't change within 24 hours, I'll do a re-install and see what happens.

I did ask about this earlier but no one seemed to have the same problem so it was a matter of try this and that until it came good.

Hope this has been some help :-D

Hi Carmel,

thanks for the advice.
Will a reinstall overwrite the settings I already changed and will I have to
repost etc?

Eddy

Hi Eddy,

I did a complete new installation, copied and saved everything I had done on the site, then deleted the database and started anew.

I have done a re-install on another site, for a different problem and didn't lose anything, mind you I did save everything first just in case. I'm not sure if that would do the trick with the adsense though. worth a try first and would save you redoing everything.

I have found the adsense seems to kick in with the topic in about 24 hours.

Let us know how you go.

BTW the new installation script Marc has done is very 'space' sensitive so make sure you don't leave any spaces on the end or beginning of anything.

Well, as you predicted one of the sites already gets me the right kind of ads. We'll just have to wait some more for the others to turn around as well.

Thanks again for the help,

Eddy

No problem, Eddy, if they don't change within a couple of days, just repeat what you did.

As those ads said

"it won't happen overnight, but it will happen"

or

"It'll happen when you're least expecting it"

Don't remember what the ads were for, the tag lines caught on though :-D

Good luck with the Challenge

Post content and gain traffic,

I usually find that after a few posts, and some consistant traffic it brings the google media bot around more often to check the content and display correct ads.

Usually it will self correct.

Thanks
Marc

Also Eddy,

Check your pub-id under adsense deluxe, make sure you have the right info in there.

should be pub-xxxxxxx where your id is meant to be (obviously xx's are your number)

Thanks
Marc
