Default "chmod_val" not set. Please set it. Bug??

Hi Guys,

Great concept. Thanks for creating the 90 Day Challenge

I watched the video and tried a test installation of WP using your online tool but I get the error message: "chmod_val" not set. Please set it.

I can't see how I can set it any way other than the drop down selector provides. Did I miss something or is this a bug?

One more point may be worth mentioning here. It took me several minutes to log into my site and set up the database and complete the form for the WP installer and then check it a few times when it kept failing. This didn't take a very long time really, but I was timed out of my session and had to log in again. No biggie, but maybe the session times could be increased a bit, it did seem a little brief.

Cheers

Pete

Default My Install Timed out

The installer copied all the wp files no problem but timed out before it could set up the database. I checked the wp-config.php file and the settings were the default settings and not the ones from the setup form I entered.

Also, there was no success message and when i checked the db - no tables.

Here is what the message was when the install timed out:
Connecting to server via FTP
Uploading the directory to the server ftp.floridahouserentals.com:

This could possibly be fixed by increasing timeout issue as well. Thanks!

Howard

Ok, I waited a few hours and came back and it installed completely this time. I guess the best time to set up new sites is during low traffic periods late at night.

I have to say this tool is amazing. If it's this easy to create a site, man, we are going to rock!

Excellent Habelow you did get it.

It may have been the influx of people using the tool to test it out. But I will check it out as it should time out at all.

Pete the chmod_val not set is a IE compatibility issue, I am just looking at it now.

Also Pete, did you mean the session time out for this site here?

It sounded like you did, if so then yes we can increase that.

Regards
Marc

Thanks Marc.

Yes, I was referring to the session timeout for this site here.

Cheers

Marc,

I just tried again with the same result. I wondered if it was a browser issue and it foes seem to be.

The problem persists with IE 7 but does not exist with Firefox 2.0. This info may be useful for other members and possibly for debugging, if you want to bother with IE 7 issues.

Cheers
Pete

I had the same problem with IE7, so switched to firefox to do the install. This worked and the site runs fine in Firefox but not IE7. In IE7 I get "The webpage cannot be found" in top and right-hand frames. In firefox these frames just appear blank as they should.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Thanks

Mark.

hhmm, well they shouldnt appear blank, and they shouldnt be not found.

They are just standard adsense blocks on the right and top part.

Can you take a screenshot please and PM it to me or pm me the url?

Thanks
Marc
