Desperately need help with installer

Hello,
First of all I apologize if there is another thread on this topic, I looked and the installer problems posted seem to be ahead of me yet.

Anyways, I followed along with the video and I attempted to install, I got the error that FTP server could not be connected to. So I went back and deleted everything and created a new database and started again. Now I can't even get the top part of the form filled out (FTP SERVER part). When I try to load the directories the ERROR: Connection to FTP server Failed. I tried the passwords I used before they nolonger work, and really I don't even follow where I get those passwords from. I am completely new to this.

If anyone can help me that would be great, I already submitted a ticket and they said they couldn't help me if I had already watched the video so I am at a complete loss. I would ask however that if you are kind enough to reply that you pretend you are talking to a two year old because really that is how much I know about this all. Sorry

Hi Kim,

I think the ftp error is that the server is not up or busy.

I got that a coule of days ago, but yesterday I connected and ran the Installer OK.

So I don't think it's your parameters in the Installer that is causing the problem.

Keep trying and the server will be free at some time.

If you have further problems, PM me and we will work it out.

I had a problem like that connecting
to my server too ,when I typed it in it wouldn't
take ,so I copied and pasted everything even
the password and it took except now I have other problems though!

Hi Mike,

Kim's problem was that she was trying to ftp via her addon domain name. That won't work.

Once we changed the ftp to her main domain name, the Installer went through without a hitch.
