Default Help About This Error!

Hello,
I'm trying to use WP Installer to install my blog on an add-on domain in my cpanel,it has connected successfully and I choose public_html---the add-on domain directory as the location for installation, but I received this error message :

"Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists in /home/wwwplr/public_html/wp21/user/index.php on line 53"

Anyone explain what this means ?
Any suggessions?

Thanks

Ahmed

Default i sent a note

Hello,
Looks like the directory already exist. Most of the time the installer does not work is you did something wrong. Did you watch the video and make sure you have no spaces, full Http://www . Make sure you followed the video to the letter. What I do is I open the video in one window and have the installer going in another and i just start and stop the video as i enter data into the installer. This may help and will make sure you don't miss anything. Delete everything and try again,
Steve
PS
I sent a note over to the boys and they should get back with you soon,
Steve

It means you already have wordpress files in the directory you are trying to install to.

Make sure that if you are trying to install for a second time that you deleted the whole directory and the files in it before installing again. Then remake that directory.

You will also get this error if you already have a blog in that directory. Make sure your not trying to install over a pre-existing blog.

Ok,
This is the new error line I'm getting now when I type my address in the browser after installation:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function optimal_title() in /home/travelto/public_html/handbagsstyle/wp-content/themes/3-column/header.php on line 6"

What this error means?

Thanks
Ahmed

I am getting the same error.

I am using free PLRpro hosting.

It doesn't tell you what file is already there - how can you delete it?

Can you delete files from the Installer?

Installer fails with this error:

Connecting to server via FTP
Uploading the directory to the server ftp.bad-breath-advisor.com:

Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists in /home/wwwplr/public_html/wp/user/index.php on line 53

Upload Complete!!

Configuration File modified.
SQL File modified.

Databse Installation Details:

WordPress
Can’t select database

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the badbreathadvisor database.

* Are you sure it exists?
* On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

If you don't know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.

Help!
