Default Help please!!!

I could not set up my second blog. It showed different errors.
Then I deleted also my first blog in order to delete all the file in file manager and start it all over again and not I can not install any blog. It just shows page not found or internal server error. When I go to the www.mydomain.com it just shows the same- page not found or internal server error.
I have checked everything many times and it looks like I put everything correctly in the installer.
When you install the second blog, can you use the same wordpress nickname and email?
please help...

I don't think you should have done that delete because now you will have to start from scatch again and set up your first blog with the installer. Delete everything under public_html and run installer again to set up your first blog.

If you are using an add-on domain, you need to enter it in the add-on domain section on cPanel. There are three input parameters:

1. domain.com
2. domain
3. password

This should put the add-on domain into your public_html and when you connect with ftp in the Desired Directory of information you shoud see:

/public_html/domain name

Do not put ".com" after the domain name. This is the name you entered in #2 above.

Enter the rest of the input parameters and you are good to go.

Let us know what happened.

Dear Cobwab!
Thank you for your reply very much- I really appreciate that!
Unfortunately no success.
First it shows error-
"It doesn't look like you've installed WP yet. Try running install.php"

Then I go to my hostgator cpanel and delete the files(where I try to set up the blog), delete my database and create a new one again. Then I go to installer, create my blog in public html in a new folder and put all the info necessary info. I really double check everything and do just the same that I did a few days ago when I was able to create my blogs, then delete them and create again(I dit it for learning and I already thought that I had learned it).
But then it shows error - "page not found"
I know that you must be very busy, but if you could just take a few minutes to look at my hostgator account, I would be very very grateful to you. I just don`t understand what I am doing wrong...I will pm you my hostgator username and password, but if you don`t have the time to do that, I eill of course understand you.

Hi,

What information are you putting in public_html from the Installer?

The Installer handles that function.

You don't have to put any information in public_html.

Default Don't understand

Hello,
I don't understand what is going on. I just used the installer twice and it worked perfectly each time. I have the installer video on one window and the actual installer on another. I click the video a bit, pause it, enter the data EXACTLY AS THE VIDEO SHOWS, and do it again. A little video, enter the data, move the video, enter the data. This way I am sure to have everything exactly as it should be. Not leaving "spaces", "/" out, nothing. It is absolutly like it should be. And guess what, works perfectly. So I don't understand why people are having all of these problems. If you do it the way I say above, I bet it will work.
Steve

Hi,

I also keep a copy of a successful Installer input. Then when I do a new one, I consult the one that worked and copy the constant parameters.

The Installer is very finicky. It does not check your input for accuracy. You have to do that yourself. In all cases where it didn't work, I made a parameter error because I didn't understnd exactly what I was doing. So I spent a few hours searching the Internet for answers. And then tried again.

Hi!

I really do know that the installer works(and how it works), because I was able to set up the blogs with no problems last week.
Well, the interesting thing is that I was able to set up the blogs with my new domains(I put them in add on domains) and there were no problems. But then just a few days later I was no more able to set up my blogs. I do not need the video anymore, because I perfectly know where and what I need to put. So that`s why I was frustrated as I used to set up the blogs with no problems and then suddenly- not anymore(doing exactly the same things).
So today I was thinking what I was doing wrong and I really could not understand. But then I tried one thing- I deleted my add on domains and I put the same domains as parked domains and BINGO- now I can set up the blogs just in 30 seconds!
I really do not understand why it does not work on add on domains anymore(????), but anyway, the goods things are that I can install the blogs again :-)

P.S. One really strange thing.
Today I installed my blog stop. The thing is that when I put it in Firefox, it shows up a totally different homepage. When I put it in Internet Explorer, it shows the blog template like it should.
Can anyone please check stop with Firefox to see if it shows up the blog template?

Thank you!

Laura

Default show the same for me

Hello
I just check your Stop in firefox and ie and they both show the installer default template page. Not sure what you are seeing. Also I installed the installer on a addon domain a couple weeks aga with no problems. Will be trying again, possibly today with another addon and will let you know.
