Numerous Attempts NO JOY

I have spent the last 6 hours trying to install just the first blog. My last 3 attempts with installer this is the error.

Database connection failed due to Access denied for user 'fat1_blog '@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I have watched the video 4 times and completed it step by step. This is not rocket science, but I feel like my head is fixing to fly off.

Please advise what is wrong. The video shows using a password with the user can i leave it blank? I am going to try that next. But I wanted to post - I needed to vent. Day one is almost over and I can't install - manually or with installer.

Ok, i noticed that
'fat1_blog '@'localhost'

with the fat1_blog having a space behind.

Can you try again but this time try to make sure no blank characters are at the back of any entries? I am betting that is the issue.

So far I have successfully installed 3 blogs using the installer with no problems.

guys, maybe you can put a check for blanks at the end of the variables entered and strip those off.

You should allow 7 days to get used to the installs and what not.

90 days is the plan you should follow , and when you have it refined, you will be flying through it.

Do you have that user added into your mysql database?

I was determined to get the first one up yesterday no matter what. AND I DID but not with the installer. Well kinda, I used the installer and Fantastico then merged together. Installer did everything except set up database tables and add adsense codes to the template.

From the VRE Book. WHATEVER IT TAKES.

I wasn't able to get the template to show up. Just blank screen, backend was all there. So I have another template I installed with ads, which is very nice. This will also allow me to test.

I already have my second niche chosen. I will attempt to use the installer on it. I will update the forum, until all the troubleshooting is done, the exact cause of install failure is unknown

Today is customize, articles and on-page seo. I can handle all of that.

Give the installer another go, it is pretty well much working, if it isnt working it may be something minor you are missing.

So shoot me your login details and url in a pm for a domain I can test it on.

And I'll get you setup with that as it really does make it 10x easier.

I've had exactly the same problem as Rhonda on 3 different hosts. I've done a manual install and then copied the plugins and templates to the site manually. However, when I choose the template you've set-up I just get a blank page.

What sort of problems are you having with the install?

Let me know, I havent found an install recently that I havent been able to do on the first go which means that I need to clarify the instructions on how to setup a little further.

Or find out where people seem to be going wrong.
