| I watched the new video three times, read through previous forum posts (did I miss one?) and still can't wrap my brain around how to get a root install into a add-on domain. I'm on Hostgator, and the way I ftp in takes me right to the root of the add-on domain; there is no "public_html", only the cgi-bin folder. I don't want a blog subfolder. I did two installs with the old installer, and I know it's something incredibly basic I'm missing here... ops: Would someone kindly spell it out, s-l-o-w-l-y? |

| To install at the root of your addon domain, just go to the folder with its name and install it there. So, instead of going through the public_html, you'll need to go to the next level which should have your folder mydomain set up, if you install it there, you'll find your installed blog at http://mydomain.com. Basically, when you have an addon domain it kind of acts the same way as a subdomain, only when you type in the address it appears as a top level domain. For that reason, all addon domains will be within the public_html folder, but your main domain will be directly in the public_html folder. Hopefully that makes sense!! Cheers Fiona |
