Default Problem with installer

Hello all:
I am trying to install WP using the installer tool and I am getting this error:

Connecting to server via FTP
Uploading the directory to the server ftp.queenofcheap.com:

Upload Complete!!

Configuration File modified.
SQL File modified.

The requested URL /bigdump.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

And the WP is not installed. Can someone tell me what this means and how to run the installer?

try deleting your database and user and starting over. Make sure everything is entered exactly and that you have no extra spaces.

Default done and still problems

I am trying to install it on an add on domain instead of a real hosting account. When I added the domain, I only get a /cgi bin folder and thats it. I made a folder called /blog and I am trying to install to that folder but I am getting the same message:

Not Found
The requested URL /bigdump.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I also have deleted the db and started over and nothing.

Can someone help me figure this out?

Hi Nemo,

When you get to the Desired Directory of Installation and click on the connect button

your files come up, click on public_html but don't use the radio button

next you should see your files,

Now click the radio button for the add-on domain

then close the directory

The next thing, make sure you have the correct Blog URL

start with the http://www. and end with /blog/ (I found the tail/slash at the end made a difference)

I found when I did it this way it worked fine. I didn't add a blog folder to the add-on domain file but it was there when the site was installed.

I know it can get frustrating but stick with it as these sites are great when you get them up

Nemo sounds like a url issue as Carm stated.

What was the url you used for Base URL when you originally installed (the entire url as you typed it please).

You can either post here, or pm me if you like.

Thanks
Marc

thanks for the advice. I understand the error. I went back and used the ftp login for the main account not the add on domain ftp login and that solved it.
