I had try 4 or 5 times to install the WP and this message came up: MySQL Data Importing To Server Processing file: wordpress.sql Starting from line: 1 Error at the line 28: ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=2 ; Query: CREATE TABLE `wp_categories` ( `cat_ID` bigint(20) NOT NULL auto_increment, `cat_name` varchar(55) NOT NULL default '', `category_nicename` varchar(200) NOT NULL default '', `category_description` longtext NOT NULL, `category_parent` bigint(20) NOT NULL default '0', `category_count` bigint(20) NOT NULL default '0', PRIMARY KEY (`cat_ID`), KEY `category_nicename` (`category_nicename`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=2 ; MySQL: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ENGINE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=2' at line 10 Stopped on error Start from the beginning (DROP the old tables before restarting) What should I do? I follow the instruction step by step. Sincerely, Suhartono

It's not that none cares but this question has been asked many times now and they all end with the same answer. You must have entered some of the details wrong. I have used the installer many times and Marc has tested it under as many different circumstances as he can think of and every time it worked perfectly. What I'm tiring to say is that the installer works fine and if you or anyone has a problem with it 99.99% of the time it will be pilot error. Check to make sure your database details where entered correctly with no spaces at the end.

Hi Robert, Thank's for the reply. Actually, I got it worked out just fine after I switch my hosting a while ago. Is that any specific characteristic I had to pay attention for the hosting company? Please I really appreciate your help. Thank you so much.

Hi You probably got that error message as a result of trying to install again over a previous install. I got the same message until I dropped the tables from the database that an earlier install had put there. When you went to new hosting you were doing a clean install so there were no tables to confuse it with. Hence no error. Gillian

Some hosting company can put restriction on what level of access you have to the sever which can make things not impossible but a bit more difficult to get things installed. It should be compatible with almost and sever configuration but may not have had type of access it needed. All Plrpro member get free hosting and with that you get as much control as you will ever need. I'm happy to hear that you got it installed and working properly. If you have and more problems please do post them and I'm sure between us and the members here we can fix almost anything.

You may have also caught us updating the file or something like that early on. Some hosts run different versions of mysql which is usually where the problem will occur. But I am pretty sure it works on most hosts now. Regards Marc
