Default Problem with Installing

I tried to install the script three times. I watched the video first and followed every step the same.

First time, errors all over, so I deleted the Amazon information, retaining the Adsense pub and channel info.

Then, I got the error:
Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists in /home/wwwplr/public_html/wp/user/index.php on line 53

Then, I tried again, deleting all the adsense info. The files loaded but then I got the error Wordpress could not find the database.

So I started from scratch - and again....

I tried a third time, starting from scratch, deleting the database and user, and setting them up again, now I am back to the first error:

Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists in /home/wwwplr/public_html/wp/user/index.php on line 53

I want to create the blog in the root folder of the website.

Finally, I deleted everything, including the website. I re-setup the website on the server, I redid the database and user/pass for the database and tried one last time, attempting to put the blog in blogtest folder - again,

Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists in /home/wwwplr/public_html/wp/user/index.php on line 53

The only thing may be the Adsense information? of the Database host needs to be indicated as ftp.domain, rather than www.domain???

thanks,

Where it says "FTP Host Name" you should put ftp.domainname.com not www.domainname.com
and then the username and password you have set to access your account at www.domainname.com.

When you get ot the "Desired Directory of Installation" when your files come up you only need to select public_html if you are installing into the root directory.

Warning: ftp_mkdir() [function.ftp-mkdir]: Can't create directory: File exists in /home/wwwplr/public_html/wp/user/index.php on line 53

Don't worry about this warning it just means the file already exists.

Amazon and Adsense IDs shouldn't be a problem unless there is a space at the beginning, this can happen if you copy and paste so check all the beginnings and the ends of everything you paste into the script. Leave the Amazon Commerce ID blank

As Marc says in the video, the FTP Host Name and the Blog URL must be correct, the blog name should be something like this http://www.domainname.com/blog/

Hope this helps you get started.
