Default Restore Domain

Hello All,
I have a question about restoring a domain that has been overwritten because I installed the add on domain to the public_html folder and not a subfolder. It changed mysql database and username to the new domain I was trying to install. Is there any other way to restore the domain other than redo everything. This domain has been up for several months, it would take forever to delete and start over.

I did talk to hostgator because I am have the free hosting with plrpro and you need a user name and password which I never received. Does anyone know how to get this information. They have a restore form but it costs and I was just wonder if anyone know how to do this for future reference so I don't have to pay all the time since I am sure I will mess this up again.

Also can anyone give me the correct way to add on a domain using the add domain in my cpanel.

Thanks for the help and love reading all the threads.
