Staging areas while waiting for nameserver propogation

I am waiting for my domain to propogate to the plrprohosting.com nameservers. In the meantime I have been building my first blog/site on another server so I can stay productive. My question now is, should it be o.k. if I set up the new database on plrprohosting.com once the domain is all set. Then upoad my templates folder from my testing site? I haven't added any articles yet because I'm still waiting for David Watson to hook me up with websitecontentwizard.

Basically I just want to transfer the asthetics and affiliate links I've placed in my blog and not mess around with anything else if need be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
