| Sorry for a stupid question, but I don`t get it... When you set up a blog, in the video it is shown that you should put the files in public_html and then create another folder under it like blog or something. But then when I go to my website, I have to write like www.mydomain/blog. Does it mean people will not be able to just write a domain and go to my website? Do I have to put files in public_html, does it affect anything? Can I create just a folder in my hostgator file manager like mydomain and then put the files under it? How do you put your files so it is easier for you when you have many websites/blogs? I really don`t understand this file managing... ![]() Thank you!!!! |

| Hello, Yes, file managing can be confusing. Your question about /blog and having to write that when people look for your blog. You can set it up in your options so people don't have to type /blog even though you have all the files in a blog folder. Here is an example. This is my site Types of Tendonitis - Tendonitis Treatments and Cures and all of the files are in the /blog folder and you are not typing /blog on the end. So to answer your question, no they won't have to type /blog at the end. Putting the files in the public_html is your root directory. If you put them in there and you want to create an html site and have the blog on the back side, you are going to have to move all of them in this case. Not that you are going to do that. Putting them in the root directory is the easiest thing and you just use your cpanel for all of your file managing affairs. Steve |
