Hello folks, I am unable to install my second blog onto my site. What directory do I install it in? I have tried many different directories and none of them are working. A couple times I installed it and it messed up my first site. Thank you for your assistance. Mike

Hello, You need another website name (url). I am not sure if you can install another niche over the first one. So for example you are going to do 4 sites, you need 4 different urls. Look at my signature, there are 3 sites there. Hope that helped, Steve

Thanks Steve, I have registered 4 URLs for my sites. I got the first one up okay. I tried to install the blog to the second site and it isn't working. I used ftp.2ndsite.com I went under the directory public_html then under the directory 2ndsite and tried to install there but it didn't work. I have tried many different directories such as public_html, blog, and others but it isn't working correctly. What is the specific directory you installed your second site into? Did you call it blog and make your site location www.2ndsite.com/blog or is your blog at the homepage of www.2ndsite.com Thank you for your assistance. Mike

I did mine directly in the public_html www.arthritistreatmentoptions.com is where my site is. Did you set up the sql database for the 2nd site? What errors are you receiving? What you will have to do is delete all of the ones that you have tried from your url 2ndsite and just get it back to the beginning. Then set up the sql database. What browser are you using? Steve

Thanks Steve. I am using Firefox browser. I did not set up a second SQL database. Do I need a new SQL database for each URL? My first site is http://www.essentialgardening.com and second site is http://www.cascadescrapbooking.com Mike

Hello, Yes, you need a new data base (sql) for each and every site, absolutly. That should take care of your problem Steve

| Thank you Steve. I did what you recommended and my second site is still not working! It messed up my first site. I just deleted my first site and I am starting all over from the beginning. I need better instructions on how to install the second site! I don't understand the video. What do I call the new database in MySQL? Do I name it the exact same as the first site, which is 'test', with username & password 'test'? And then what database do I install into? I open up ftp.2ndSite.com . Do I install the blog under datebase 'blog' directly under 'public_html'? -public_html --blog Or do I install it in 'blog' directly under the file '2ndSite' which is directly under 'public_html' ? - public_html -- 2ndSite ---Blog I tried both ways and they didn't work. | I am by no means the expert. I am not sure what is going on. I have each site with its own url. You need different names and passwords for each sql. Hopefully marc or Danial will answer your post soon. I am not sure what to tell you. Steve |
