Default easiest thing to do

Hello,
the easiest thing to do is this, I have written about this before, just fyi
have two windows open
one with the video on how to install
and the other with the installer open
go step by step and pause after each step of the video
complete that step in the installer
continue through each step pausing and doing what it said
this will insure that you did it write. The only reason it does not work is you did something wrong in the install.

I am having a similar problem with the installer.
The form seems to have changed again since the video, but that is evolution I guess.
My prob is that I get towards the end of the first panel ok.
It has connected ok, and selects the install directory.
But then, no matter what I put in the "blog url" box, when I click the "check details" button it just shows (greyed out) "Checking Please Wait", and hangs.
I have tried it so many times now. that I am about to give up and revert to a manual install.

I have installed loads of blogs, so that doesn't give me any problems except that there doesn't seem to be any configuration details so that I can get to the same configuration that the installer (is supposed to ) provide.
I have downloaded the list of plugins but there seem to be no inducation of any configuration for those plugins.

Are there any more instructions anywhere detailing a manual install?

I need to get moving with this, and still can't get any further with the installer, so...
I am going to do a manual install.
I have the list of plugins.
Where can I find the Theme?
Is there any other information needed to get to the where I would be if the installer worked for me?

Many thanks

Brian
